Robots That Vacuum and Mop
Robots that vacuum and clean offer the convenience of cleaning both dry debris and wet messes in one session without the need to switch between devices. They can also save space when compared to two separate units, especially in smaller living areas.
A good combination bot must be able to navigate well and have excellent obstacle avoidance. Find models that automatically empty their bin and refill their water tank and machine-wash their mopping pads from the dock that is specifically designed for them.
1. Eufy S1 Pro
It has a lot to offer for its modest price and is among the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking the S1 Pro is simple, and a quick-start guide will have you running with a clean, full dust bag, hard floor solution and water tank in no time at all.
The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. Its mops spin at high speeds and can apply 2.2 pounds (1kg) of force, making short work of pet hair, dirt, and dried sticky spills. The vacuum comes with four power modes, a range of brushes and attachments, and an intuitive app that lets you choose the exact kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.
You can, for example request the robot to clean the kitchen and the living room thoroughly, but leave the spare bedroom alone. 2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra
The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra, the most recent version of Roborock's flagship robot vacuum and mop, is the most recent version. This year's model has a double agitator built into its mopping pad. This increases the carpet cleaning capabilities of this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an enhanced suction power that enables it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners may miss.
This Roborock model, like the other two models I tested, has infrared and reactive 3D obstacle avoidance technology that helps it get around obstacles like walls, furniture, and other obstacles. The S8 Pro Ultra goes one step further and includes dual cameras that can detect objects, determining whether they're walls or other surfaces. It can then change its path automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.
It's the most expensive robot I've ever tested and it comes with the most features. Its sleek, angular design is attractive and it only has three physical buttons: the power button, which can also restart cleaning; a mop button that doubles as a child lock and a home button that can return the robot to its dock. The hinged lid can be lifted to reveal the 350ml dust bin as well as a 200ml water tank. The water tank is automatically filled and the bin auto-refills.
The only issue I have discovered with this model is that its VibraRise mop pad mount isn't movable. It is possible to replace the mopping cloth if required, but it's not easy to take the mount off for washing manually. I've noticed that any plush carpet that the robot passes will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and could cause abrasions.
The S8 Pro Ultra is equipped with a variety of intelligent features that include support for Google Home and Amazon Alexa. You can set up and manage these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app also allows you to schedule cleanings, monitor the life of batteries and maintenance on components. You'll need to jump through a series of steps to activate voice control on this model. It's a shame considering how well-performing it is otherwise.
3. Dreame X40
The Dreame X40 robot vacuum and mop is a leader in the industry with innovative features, superior suction power, and advanced mowing capabilities. Its clever design permits customized and efficient cleaning while reducing time.
The X40 is the first robot vacuum cleaner to provide 12,000 Pascals of cleaning power, which easily makes it one of the most effective alternatives available. This powerful vacuum is able to clean up pet hair dust, crumbs and any other dry messes. It has a mop of top quality that cleans hard floors without the use of a pad. The X40 is also extremely quiet when in operation and only occasionally bursting during mode changes or self-maintenance.
Another noteworthy feature is the X40's extendable and liftable side brush which lets it get into hard-to-reach corners and intimately clean furniture such as table and chairs' legs. The robot can also reach under low-profile furnishings which makes it a great choice for small apartments or condos. The side brush automatically tilts down when detecting wet spots. This is a nice feature that assists the X40 avoid damaging floors with repeated back-andforth movements.
Unlike other robots, which are limited to a single task, the X40 can vacuum and mop simultaneously. It can also be programmed to skip areas that have carpet and only mop hard floors, or vice versa. It can be controlled using the Dreame App or Alexa, Siri, or Google Home to ensure that voice-controlled operations are smooth and easy.
The app is simple to use and intuitive and the X40 is equipped with many clever features that are simple to set up. Users can program the X40 to clean at specific times, alter suction power and mode, look at mapping and floor plans, and manage mopping settings. The X40 will also track its progress and notify you when it's done.
The X40 is easy-to-maintain and offers numerous features that make it a great choice for busy families. The docking station automatically cleans the dustbin and the mop pads, then refill them with cleaning solution and fresh water. It will also tell you if the mop pad is at its maximum capacity and alert you to the situation prior to it bursting.
4. L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that is among the most expensive models available however, it comes with numerous extra features that set it apart. Its mops have a new feature called Smart DuoScrub. This uses two high-speed mops to scrub floors more thoroughly than the conventional method, and it comes with an impressive suction power of 7,000Pa. This is higher than Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, small dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.
The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it stops mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuums and mop models, and it could be a good way of keeping your home clean for longer.
There's a wealth of settings available which include the possibility to schedule cleaning appointments and adjust a variety of preferences. They can be set through the app or buttons that can be found on the device itself. The app is easy to use and offers many options to customize the cleaning routine, and there are many functions that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power whenever it detects dust particles, instead of relying on a manual setting.
The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen on market, with metallic and white design that is elegant and stylish. It is a little heavier at 4kg than some of the other robots listed on this list, but it's still not too heavy. It is solid and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed and the double-rotating mops work well on hard floors as well as in corners. They can even extend to 2mm baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature, which is a nice addition.
